The merger of two specialist companies, Process Alignment Services and Russell Davis Ltd, formed Human Performance Improvements Ltd. The merger of both companies resulted in a single organisation that could provide consultancy and training on the conduct of operations and the conduct of maintenance.
The company specialises in Operational Support. This consists of looking at core processes such as plant operations, plant log keeping arrangements, legislative compliance at the work face, plant surveillance monitoring, key parameter surveillance techniques and looks to help companies improve by adopting good practice.
Our teams of practitioners operate by facilitation of process workers and team leaders and introducing different techniques and good practice on Human Performance issues. Examples of this might be team skills training, effective communication to decision making, as well as hands on analysis and consultancy to improve working practices and standards.
We also offer high quality training courses on the culture of improving human performance. These courses are either 1, 2 or 3 days and have been used extensively throughout the UK Nuclear Industry and HPi are used by the UN to foster such training towards developing nations through their nuclear centre in Vienna.
HPi Verification
Since most industrial operations must be performed within the scope of legislation there is a natural link between our conduct of operations work and regulations. This "link" was formalised in January 2004 with HPi's acquisition of the accreditations and key personnel from Veritec Ltd. This created HPi Verification Services which has since expanded operations to offer services nationwide to major & ‘blue chip’ organisations such as BAE Systems, British Energy, Kimberley Clark, BP, Castrol, General Motors, Glaxo, RayMarine being a selection of our clients.
Company Structure
The company currently has offices within the UK but has plans for expansion of operations through a location within central Europe.
The divisions of the company are headed by functional group heads who are experienced practitioners in the relevant field and we also operate a hands-on policy, where the group heads and managers often undertake client support activities.
The Managing Director who believes that, for the company mission to be sustained, it is necessary for senior management to ‘walk the talk’ and become involved with support operations. The Managing Director is included in this and he carries-out some hands-on work with client operations in Europe or Asia.
The company's staff profile consists of full time employees (fte) and part time employees (pte). The pte vary their work pattern to align with the work in progress of the company or the requirement to provide a particular specialism such as maintenance management, inspection, QA etc. In total the staff numbers 46.
This staff flexibility enables the company to provide a flexible and rapid response to customer requirements regardless of their location.Human Performance Improvements is seeking to increase staff numbers to a maximum of 70 over the next 3 years. The company considers that too fast an expansion threatens its deserved reputation for unprecedented high quality support services.
